Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has undergone a drug test in the United Kingdom to refute allegations of drug abuse that have circulated widely on social media in recent weeks.
The development comes amid reports that her husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, has filed for custody of their two children, citing claims that the actress is unfit to parent them.
In a video shared on her Instagram page, Regina Daniels described the past few months as emotionally draining and life-altering, explaining that she chose to take the drug test out of a sense of responsibility to her family, supporters, and the general public.
She said persistent claims portraying her as a drug addict compelled her to confront the allegations directly in order to protect her integrity and bring closure to the issue.
The actress later shared what she said were the test results, which she indicated cleared her of drug abuse as alleged.
The accusations surfaced during a public fallout between the couple, during which Senator Nwoko reportedly dismissed her public outbursts, alleging they were linked to drug use and declining mental stability. He further claimed that their marital challenges stemmed from what he described as drug-related behaviour, alleging that she became aggressive and abusive toward him and other members of his household.
While firmly denying the allegations, Regina Daniels stated that the only substance she had ever used was ecstasy, popularly known as “Molly.”
She expressed gratitude to her family, friends, and members of the public who stood by her during the period, attributing her resilience to their support and to God’s grace.
