The family of the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, has announced that condolence visits will be accepted only on weekdays until further notice.
In a statement issued by the office of former President Jerry John Rawlings, the family explained that all visits must be booked in advance by calling 0276500008 to arrange an appropriate date and time.
The statement further emphasized that no weekend visits will be permitted.
Friends, the public, and institutions wishing to share their tributes have been advised to send them via email to TRIBUTES@NANAKONADUAGYEMANRAWLINGS.ORG or submit hard copies at the Office of the Former President, located at No. 1 Sekou Toure Link, Cantonments, Accra.
Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings passed away on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at the Greater Accra Regional Hospital, popularly known as Ridge Hospital, after a brief illness.
Born on November 17, 1948, she was the founder of the 31st December Women’s Movement and a leading advocate for women’s rights, education, and economic empowerment.
As Ghana’s longest-serving First Lady, she contributed significantly to advancing policies that promoted women’s participation in national development.
She later became politically active as Vice Chairperson of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) before going on to establish the National Democratic Party (NDP).
Together with her late husband, former President Jerry John Rawlings, she is survived by four children: Zanetor, Yaa Asantewaa, Amina, and Kimathi Agyeman-Rawlings.
