lions

Same-sex behaviour in the jungle is very rare to see in the wild but not so strange when the animals are in captivity.

An undated video has been making rounds on social media showing one of the rare encounters in the history of lions – two male lions having it ‘bad’ in the safari.

Unlike many other recorded encounters, the recent video shows how frisky male lions were partaking in the “abominable act”.

According to wildlife studies, lions’ mating usually takes a few seconds, but that was not the case with the captured incident where two male lions were at it for a whole minute.

The video, however, doesn’t have more details as to who captured it and where. But the publication is reliably informed that the incident might have taken place in one of the Southern African safaris not so long ago.

A few years ago, a wildlife photographer, Paul Goldstein also captured an almost similar incident in Kenya.

His video went viral on social media and attracted negative comments and reactions from the Kenyan government.

One Kenyan official, Ezekiel Mutsa, the chief executive of the Kenya Film Classification Board at that time expressed disgust over the incident claiming that the animals must have copied the ‘demonic’ act from gay tourists visiting that country.

The recent video is proof that the wildlife, like humans, also engage in same-sex activities. Theirs, unlike humans’, are not well documented and are rarely spotted, hence, the public outbursts once such incidents are revealed to the public.
