The Queen Mother of Naketey in the Ahafo Region, Nana Mamiley Awusi, has urged the government to support the completion of a maternity ward at the community’s CHPS compound.
Speaking during a fundraising event marking her 10th enstoolment anniversary, she expressed concern over the hardships pregnant women face due to the absence of a proper maternity facility.
She noted that the project, initiated by the community, has stalled due to a lack of funds and called for urgent intervention to save lives.
Adom News reporter Sammy Asare also engaged Assembly Member Daniel Amoka and a resident, who highlighted other challenges, including poor road conditions and a lack of telephone network, urging the government to address these pressing issues.
