Public urged to extend year-round support to Orphanages

The Deputy Director of Rescue Holy Land Orphanage in Denkyira Buabinso, Prince Adu Boateng, has appealed to the public to consistently support orphanage homes throughout the year, not only during festive occasions.

Speaking after a kind gesture by a philanthropist who marked her daughter’s birthday with the orphans, Mr. Boateng stressed that orphanages face daily challenges in providing food, clothing, education, and emotional support to the children in their care.

“These homes need regular support, not just during Christmas, Easter, or Eid,” he said. “The children require love and basic necessities every single day.”

He emphasized that beyond donations, simply visiting the children can uplift their spirits and motivate them to strive for a brighter future.

The call comes after philanthropist Hannah Offei Akoto spent time with the children, sharing a meal and donating essential items such as rice, oil, drinks, and toiletries.

Explaining her motivation, Ms. Akoto said, “I wanted these children to feel the same love and happiness my daughter experiences on her birthday. Every child deserves to feel cared for.”

She encouraged individuals, churches, and businesses to extend compassion and support to vulnerable children, stressing that small acts of kindness can have lasting impacts.

Mr. Boateng also called for more volunteerism and regular visits to help improve the lives of children in orphanages across the country.
