The founder and leader of Hossan Church of All Nations, Rev. Dr. Wisdom Setor Ahadzie, has been installed as the new chief of Srogboe, a fishing community in the Anloga District of the Volta Region.
He will serve under the stool name Torgbi Tsibaglo II, succeeding Torgbi Tsibaglo I, a revered and fearless warrior in Anlo history.
Speaking at his coronation and outdooring ceremony, Torgbi Tsibaglo II recounted his journey as a preacher and civil servant, noting that the call to leadership came as a surprise.
“Togbi Chairman, I was a preacher man and a civil servant over the years. Therefore, this crown has come to me as a big surprise because I believe there are many other men in the royal family who equally merit the crown,” he said.
“I remember that since the day I was captured, I reflected on many accounts given by my parents concerning my relationship with this stool. Even though it was unexpected, I have come to accept the assignment as a divinely orchestrated one.”
Torgbi Tsibaglo II pledged his commitment to addressing pressing issues affecting the Srogboe community, including poverty, education, and healthcare.
“As a descendant of Torgbi Tsibaglo, the first World War leader and the most fearless warrior in Anlo history, I feel humbled but fortified to confront these challenges,” he assured.
The newly installed chief also revealed that efforts are underway to establish a College of Education in Srogboe.
“To set the ball rolling, I, together with Agbotadua Hormenyo, Mama Dewornu II, and Agbotadua Nyanyovor, have petitioned the Minister of Education and the Director-General of the Ghana Education Service for the establishment of the Srogboe College of Education, which is currently nearing approval with the support of GTEC,” he stated.
He emphasized that the college would motivate the youth, elevate education standards, and boost the local economy.
Additionally, the chief disclosed plans by the royal family to spearhead a lagoon dredging project to improve accessibility and fishing activities in the community.
Meanwhile, the Bate Royal Family has announced plans to initiate an annual Togbui Apim Festival to promote unity, peace, and development in Srogboe.
A joint committee from Torgbi Tsibaglo II and Torgbi Tsikata Agbodzie II will be formed to begin preparations for the festival, which will commence next year.
As part of tourism and development efforts, the Torgbi Apim residency will also be modernized as a tourist attraction to generate revenue for the community.
Torgbi Tsibaglo II assured the people of Anloga that plans are underway for the construction of a CHPS compound at Agorve Basic School, and he urged all chiefs and residents to unite for the sake of peace and development.
