The Ministry of Defence has announced that Ghana’s Presidential jet is currently undergoing final maintenance procedures in France ahead of its return to the country.
According to the Ministry, the final phase of work includes a leak test on the aircraft’s fuel tanks, a third engine ground run, painting of the lower wing panel, and an acceptance flight test.
These procedures follow the repair of fuel leakages discovered in the right-hand wing tank and the restoration of corroded sections, which had delayed the completion of the overall inspection.
Addressing Parliament, Deputy Minister for Defence Ernest Brogya Genfi assured that the jet will be brought back to Ghana once all necessary tests are completed and it has been certified airworthy.
“The Falcon 900 executive aircraft was ferried to Falcon Services in France on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, for a periodic inspection. Corrosion spots were reported within the aircraft, which affected the delivery date, but extensive repairs have been completed. During the inspection, fuel leakages were observed in the right-hand wing tank. After successfully repairing this issue, additional challenges were encountered, leading to further delays. The repairs have now been completed, and the aircraft will undergo a final leak test and inspection before an acceptance flight is performed. After this, the aircraft will return to Ghana,” he explained.
