President John Mahama has pledged to steer Ghana’s development to a level so advanced that no future government, regardless of political affiliation, can undo the progress.
Speaking at Jubilee House during a courtesy visit from the Christian Council of Ghana on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, the President described his mandate as an opportunity to implement structural reforms that ensure lasting impact.
“My mission is to use the mandate Ghanaians have given me to move Ghana to a level where anybody who comes after cannot reverse the gains that we have made,” he stated.
President Mahama highlighted the risks of policy discontinuity, pointing to global and regional instability as examples of how poor governance can erode national progress.
He stressed that Ghana’s stability depends on resilient economic and institutional structures, which his administration is committed to strengthening.
The government is simultaneously tackling immediate governance and financial challenges, including high-profile corruption cases involving officials from the previous administration, to safeguard resources for development projects.
To ensure long-term stability, the administration is also enforcing strict fiscal discipline following the 2026 Budget and working to boost investor confidence to attract foreign direct investment, critical for industrialisation and private-sector-led growth.
