President John Dramani Mahama has underscored the importance of stronger multilateral cooperation to address pressing global challenges, including climate change and economic inequality.

He warned that unilateral actions by individual nations could threaten global stability and undermine collective efforts toward sustainable development.

The President made the remarks while receiving the Duke of Edinburgh, His Royal Highness Prince Edward, at the Jubilee House in Accra during the Duke’s two-day state visit to Ghana, aimed at strengthening bilateral relations between Ghana and the United Kingdom.

During the visit, Prince Edward is scheduled to hold discussions with government officials, traditional leaders, and business executives, and tour selected educational institutions and cultural centres to explore investment and partnership opportunities.

The Duke was welcomed with vibrant displays of Ghanaian culture and tradition, attended by chiefs from the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs, schoolchildren, and senior government officials.

President Mahama reiterated Ghana’s commitment to international cooperation, urging nations to support one another in their development efforts. He called for the formation of new alliances that encourage collective action rather than isolation, emphasizing the need for a “coalition of the willing” in response to escalating global trade tensions.
