President John Dramani Mahama has handed over 40 special armored vehicles to the Ghana Police Service at a ceremony held at the Police Headquarters in Accra, reaffirming the government’s commitment to strengthening national security.
Addressing officers, President Mahama said the vehicles would significantly enhance police operations and improve the safety of both personnel and the public.
He urged the Service to use the vehicles strictly for their intended purpose and to continue working to protect citizens across the country.
Interior Minister Muntaka Mubarak assured that the vehicles would be deployed effectively, calling on the public to remain calm, as the Police are “ready and equipped” to ensure national safety.
Inspector-General of Police Christian Tetteh Yohuno warned criminal networks that the Service is prepared to dismantle all syndicates. He added that comprehensive security measures have been rolled out ahead of the Christmas season.
