Heavy rains that swept through parts of the Eastern Region on Saturday, March 14, 2026, caused widespread power outages, leaving homes, businesses, and critical facilities without electricity.

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) reported that the severe storm disrupted sections of its network, affecting supply across multiple districts.

In a statement, ECG said its engineers were deployed immediately to assess the damage and carry out repairs, emphasizing that restoration teams were working “assiduously” to bring power back online.

The company also encouraged customers who experienced outages within their homes or businesses to report the issue directly via the ECG contact center at 0302611611, visit the nearest ECG office, or engage through their official social media channels, @ECGghOfficial.

ECG expressed regret for the inconvenience caused and assured the public that efforts were being made to restore normal power supply promptly while continuing to monitor the network for further weather-related disruptions.

The company also reminded the public of safety precautions during storms, advising residents to stay clear of downed power lines and to report any electrical hazards immediately.
