A temporary power outage has affected large parts of Greater Kumasi following a minor fault detected at the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) on Sunday.
The fault led to a reduction in electricity supply to the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), resulting in power disruptions across several communities within the metropolis.
In a notice issued by the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly, GRIDCo and ECG indicated that technical teams from both institutions are working diligently to resolve the issue and restore power supply as quickly as possible.
The Assembly added that security patrols have been intensified in the affected areas to ensure public safety and maintain order during the outage.
Residents have been urged to remain calm and patient as repair works continue.
“We sincerely apologise for the inconvenience caused and thank you for your patience and cooperation,” the notice said.
