Greater Accra Regional Women’s Organiser hopeful, Naomi Akosua Owusu, has described her involvement in politics as a divine calling, expressing confidence that her experience and connection with party members make her the best candidate to lead the women’s wing in the region.
According to her, her years of experience in party politics, particularly as a constituency women’s organiser, have equipped her with the skills needed to mobilise women and strengthen the party’s structures across the Greater Accra Region.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen, Madam Owusu said she has built strong relationships with party members and is known for her popularity and respectful approach to people.
“I have the experience, so I believe I am the best fit. I am very popular among party members and I am very respectful,” she said.
She said her decision to contest the position is also motivated by her observation that women play a crucial role in political mobilisation but are often not given sufficient recognition for their contributions.
“I believe my experience makes me the best fit for this role. I am well-respected and popular among party members. I’ve observed that women are often used in politics, and my background as a constituency women’s organizer will help me lead effectively in our region.”
Madam Owusu believes her experience at the constituency level will enable her to effectively coordinate the party’s women’s wing across the region.
She said politics requires constant engagement and communication with constituents and party members, adding that she intends to adopt an open and consistent communication strategy if elected.
“Politics is about constant communication with the people, and I believe with that we will bring back our lost seats,” she stated.
The Greater Accra Regional Women’s Organiser hopeful also described her political journey as one guided by her faith.
She said her approach to politics is grounded in biblical principles, which she believes can help restore public confidence in political leadership and bring people closer to God.
She described her political ambition as being driven by a “divine purpose” and pledged to work closely with women across the region to strengthen the party’s electoral prospects.
“I see my involvement in politics as a calling; I received this message during a church ministry session. I practice “biblical politics,” believing that if we engage in politics with integrity and purpose, we can draw people closer to God. My political efforts are driven by a divine purpose, and I am committed to working with women to win in all constituencies,” she stated.
Madam Owusu further expressed confidence in her ability to deliver on the responsibilities of the position, saying her understanding of the role and experience in party organisation have prepared her for the task.
“I can do the work. I understand the job,” she said.
