Politics at its best is service – Asiedu Nketia

National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress, Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has called on political parties in Africa to be committed to service.

The Chairman of the ruling party made the remarks while addressing the closing ceremony of the African Political Parties Summit 2025 at the Accra International Conference Centre.

He stated, “Politics at its best is service to the people, and the African Political Parties Summit 2025 will be remembered not just for its hospitality, but for having set in motion a process of political renewal and continental unity.”

Mr. Nketia also took the opportunity to thank all participants of the summit for attending, as well as for standing in solidarity with Ghana at a time when the nation is mourning the loss of eight public servants in a ghastly helicopter crash, including the Minister of Defence, Dr. Omane Boamah, and the Minister for Environment, Science and Technology, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed.

The African Political Parties Summit officially ended today, August 14, 2025, having provided a vital platform for the convergence of all political parties on the continent of Africa, beginning August 12, 2025.
