Police urged to intensify action against reckless motor riding in Kenyasi

The Head Pastor of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) Peace Temple in Kenyasi, Ahafo Region, Reverend Smart Gunda, has urged the police to adopt tougher measures to curb reckless motor riding in the area, which he says continues to endanger the lives of innocent residents.

He was speaking during the church’s 20th anniversary celebration and the sod-cutting ceremony for a new ultra-modern church building.

Reverend Gunda told Adom News that careless riding practices, including overspeeding, wrong overtaking, and disregard for traffic regulations, have resulted in numerous accidents, injuries, and deaths in the community.

He noted that both commercial and private riders are often guilty of these offenses and called on law enforcement agencies to intensify operations and enforce existing road safety laws to prevent further loss of life.

“The clergy are key stakeholders in our communities, and we cannot remain silent while indiscipline on the roads continues to claim innocent lives. The police must act decisively to stop this menace,” he said.

Meanwhile, Reverend Samuel Nuako, Head Pastor of ICGC Weija in the Greater Accra Region, expressed concern about the growing rate of social vices among the youth.

He stressed that the best way to address the challenge is through the integration of gospel values in schools to promote discipline and moral development among students.
