The Eastern South Regional Police Command has restored peace in the Boadua community after a chieftaincy dispute threatened to escalate.
According to a statement from the Public Affairs Unit of the Ghana Police Service on December 16, 2025, the police received a complaint on Saturday, December 14, from the Bretuo Abusuapanin of Boadua. The complaint alleged that members of the Boadua Aduana Family forcibly entered the Boadua Chief’s Palace, damaging the main entrance and destroying a shrine in an attempt to seize control of the palace.
Police officers were promptly deployed to the scene and successfully restored order.
Eight suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident to assist with investigations. They include Baffour Kwame Agyei, Kwabena Twum, Baffour Kwame Annor, Baffour Kofi Dankwa, Maxwell Frimpong, Eric Dankwah, Nana Kwaku Frimpong, Baffour Kwasi Ampaabeng, and Baffour Yaw Anya.
The suspects have been granted police enquiry bail and are expected to appear in court on Thursday, December 18, 2025.
