The Ghana Police Service has invited political parties to a high-level meeting to address election-related violence and preparations for the upcoming Akwatia Constituency by-election.
In a letter signed by the Director-General of Administration, COP Dr. David Agyemang Adjem, the Police said the meeting will take place on Tuesday, August 19, 2025, at the Police Headquarters in Accra.
The discussions will focus on security arrangements, operational modalities for the by-election, and the Electoral Commission’s (EC) roadmap for the polls.
“The meeting will discuss the modalities for the by-election as well as the Electoral Commission’s preparedness and their roadmap for the Parliamentary by-election,” the letter stated.
The Police expressed confidence in the cooperation of political stakeholders, urging all invited parties to make themselves available for the engagement.
The Electoral Commission, which will conduct the by-election, was also copied in the correspondence.
