The Ghana Police Service has embarked on a show of force and route march in the Ayawaso East Constituency ahead of the March 3 by-election.
The exercise forms part of heightened security measures aimed at ensuring peace, security, law and order before, during, and after the polls.

The exercise brought together officers from various specialised units, who moved through the principal streets of the constituency in a coordinated display of readiness.
Patrol vehicles, foot officers and rapid response teams were visible at strategic points, signalling what authorities describe as a proactive approach to safeguarding the electoral process.

According to the Police, the operation is intended to reassure residents, discourage any form of electoral misconduct and affirm the Service’s preparedness to respond swiftly to threats before, during and after the polls.
Officials emphasised their commitment to maintaining law and order and creating a safe space for voters, political actors, electoral officers and observers.

The highly anticipated by-election follows the death of the sitting Member of Parliament, Mahama Nasser Toure.
With the by-election drawing near, authorities say collaboration between security services, political stakeholders and the public will be key to ensuring a peaceful and credible vote.
