Ghana winger Kamaldeen Sulemana says representing the Black Stars is the fulfilment of a childhood dream, describing every call-up as a proud moment for him and his family.

Speaking at his official unveiling after completing a summer move from Southampton to Serie A side Atalanta, the 22-year-old expressed excitement about the opportunities ahead.

“Atalanta gives me big competitions in Europe. If I am able to do my job here and play well, that gives me a big role to play in Ghana,” he said.

Despite making just one start for the Black Stars since September 2023, Sulemana remains hopeful of regaining his place in the national team setup.

“Every single time I am selected for the national team, it is a proud moment for me and my family. That’s what I dreamt of when I was young. I always wanted to play at the World Cup and the African Cup,” he added.

With 20 senior caps to his name, Sulemana is aiming to use his move to Italy to boost his chances of selection for Ghana’s upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Mali in September, where he is expected to make the squad.
