Police in parliament have arrested a 49-year-old man for stealing two bundles of toilet roll reserved exclusively for use by the country’s legislators.

The man sneaked into Job 600 which is the offices of the lawmakers through the lifts and entered one washroom after another in search of unused bundles of toiletries, MyNewsGH.com’s Nana Kwasi Adom was told.

Upon seeing him leave the building with his “loot”, he was questioned and an alarm was raised by the security stationed around the gates, leading to his arrest.

The man whose name is yet to be given is not a worker at the Law-making house, police said. He had also not been logged in as a visitor for him to gain access to the Job 600 chamber where he stole the Toilet rolls.

Police have said how he gained access to the building will be investigated thoroughly and will also have his mind examined as investigations unfold.

Social media users have however called on the police to release the man and for MPs to find a job for him.

  1. No one will support stealing, but stealing T rolls shows how other are suffering in the Country. Leaders who fail to support their citizenry a decent life do not fit rule. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Let him go and give him some of your looted cash.

  2. The poor guy only needed something to start a business with, this should even cause these legislators to set him up with some capital. This is not a thief, he is only a hungry man. Release the poor man, we have bigger thieves in suits walking about free where he went to pick these things. Is this even news? Abeg, next news item.this is no news

  3. I think the entire Police Service should be worried about how he managed to get into the building. What if he was carrying a bomb or a weapon of destruction? You had better not worried about the theft and rather be worried about how he got in there.
The security officers on duty should be sacked!!!

  4. A man arrested for stealling MPs T rolls at Parliament House? Then what do we do to an MP(s) who gas been stealling Ghana’s money in Ghana? Oppressors rulers indeed.

  5. I’m surprised that the Parliament House procure so much toilet roll that someone can walk in and have bundles to steal from the washroom not even the stores.
Our leaders are wasting money to keep bundles of toilet roll in their washroom while citizens suffer.
