Residents of Hiawuanwu in the Ejura-Sekyedumase Municipality have threatened to set any government vehicle ablaze due to poor road network on the Kumasi-Atebubu highway.
According to them, most accidents that occur on that stretch of road is due to numerous the poor road network in the area.
The residents say the Ejura-Atebubu highway has become a death trap due to several pot holes resulting in road accidents.
They added that, some of the respective bridges essential for crossover have broken down beyond repair hence they call on the government to come to their aid immediately.
On resident who spoke to Adom News said some political bigwigs usually ply that route and since they have four-wheel-drive cars they don’t mind about the concerns of the people.
“The road is very bad. A lot of accidents have happened here. Some of the big men use this road often but they don’t mind because they have big 4×4 cars…”
“The bridge has almost collapsed and accidents are rampant. A lot of people have been killed due to this. If any government car gets an accident here, we will set it ablaze without consideration…” they said he said angrily.
Meanwhile, the Municipal Chief Executive, Salisu Bamba is yet to speak on the matter.

If your roads haven’t been fixed does it mean you should burn government vehicles? Why do you have Assembly members and DCEs? How much taxes have you been contributing to build Ghana? If you feel cheated, fight those corrupt civil servants and ministers who deep their dirty fingers into govt coffers. Those thieves who rob the country dry.
