Five suspected armed robbers have been arrested by the Kasoa Divisional Police Command.

The suspects Dickson Kumadzro, 42; Kwaku Atatsi, 22; Adjevi Yao, 35; Kofi Amewugah, 28; and Divine Mawuli, 30, were arrested on Wednesday upon a tip-off.

The Divisional Police Commander, ACP David Agyeman Adjem narrating the incident to Adom News said, the police arrested the suspects upon a tip-off at Wassa Akropong in a hotel.

Three others, he noted, escaped arrest after jumping from the third floor of the hotel building.

He disclosed that the suspects robbed some Indian nationals at Wassa Akropong to the tune of GHc 270,000 and 7.5 kilos of gold.

Other items found on them were a pistol, Indian Citizen ID Card, a driver’s license, a cartridge, knife and hammer, the commander said.

The suspects have been remanded and would be transferred to the CID Headquarters in Accra for further investigations.

Meanwhile, ACP Adjem has appealed to Ghanaians to assist the police by providing vital information on suspicious characters in their areas to help them deal with criminals.
