The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana (PFAG) is set to engage with the players of Eleven Wonders following concerns over their welfare.

The development comes after claims by former head coach J.E. Sarpong, who left the club less than a month into his tenure, that players were not being properly fed and were owed salaries.

Nii Odartey Lamptey, recently reappointed to lead the side after their return to the Premier League, confirmed in an interview with Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show that he has alerted PFAG to the situation, urging support for the players.

“I want to stay mute because I don’t want to create problems. After all, it is football that has made me who I am today,” the former Ghana international said.

“I went in there to help, but if I decide to talk, it will be more than what J.E. Sarpong said. I hope Eleven Wonders will change. I sometimes feel for the players because I don’t think it is the best. Footballers don’t deserve to go through what Eleven Wonders players are going through.

“At the right time, PFAG will meet the players and discuss their welfare, so I don’t want to go deep into issues because I am hurt. I decided to come into the game again just to help, but with what happened, I don’t want to talk about it. I just hope that PFAG will go to the aid of the players because, with what is happening, it is not the best,” he added.

Eleven Wonders have struggled this season, remaining the only team in the Premier League yet to secure a win after 11 matches. The club will be eager to claim their first victory when they host Dreams FC in Matchday 12 at the University of Ghana Stadium.
