The District Pastor of the New Life branch of the Seventh-day Adventist (SDA) Church in Koforidua, Pastor Osei Bonsu Sarpong, has urged Christians, traditional leaders, and other stakeholders to unite in combating social vices such as homosexuality and lesbianism.

Speaking during the inauguration of the New Life District of the SDA Church at Anlo-Town in the Eastern Region, Pastor Sarpong emphasized that as Christians and “the light of the world,” believers have a moral responsibility to uphold righteousness and defend societal values.

He expressed concern over what he described as the increasing acceptance of immoral behaviors that undermine traditional and religious principles, calling on the church to speak boldly against such acts.

The inauguration, held under the theme “United in Faithfulness for the Mission,” featured spirited worship sessions and the induction of newly appointed church leaders committed to spreading the gospel and serving their community.

Pastor Sarpong also appealed to the Attorney-General and Minister for Justice, Dominic Ayine, as well as the government, to ensure that corrupt public officials are prosecuted to serve as a deterrent to others.
