Passengers, traders, and drivers traveling between Adowso and Ekye Amanfrom have been stranded following the breakdown of a ferry on the Afram River.
The incident, which began a day earlier, has disrupted movement along the busy route, leaving commuters frustrated amid uncertainty over when services will resume.
Some stranded passengers told Adom News they were disappointed by poor communication from operators, citing a lack of information, food, and shelter while waiting to continue their journeys.
The disruption has also affected economic activities, as the route serves as a key transport link for traders and residents.
District Chief Executive Moses Tangmee acknowledged the situation and assured that efforts are underway to resolve the problem.
He said arrangements are being made with the Volta Lake Transport Company to deploy an alternative ferry.
Stranded passengers have meanwhile renewed calls on the government to construct a bridge over the Afram River to ensure reliable transportation.
