The Papatia D/A Basic School in the Krachi Nchumuru District of the Oti Region has held its inaugural Speech and Prize-Giving Day, commemorating 31 years of academic excellence.

The event, themed “31 Years of Academic Excellence: Nurturing Talents and Unlocking Potentials,” brought together students, parents, education officials, traditional leaders, and community members to reflect on the school’s journey and achievements.

During the ceremony, outstanding students, teachers, and staff were recognized for their significant contributions to the school’s growth and success.

In his address, Headmaster Mr. Amaglo Godsway Kwabla expressed gratitude to teachers and parents for their unwavering support. He also appealed to government agencies, NGOs, and philanthropists to assist the school with improved infrastructure and learning materials.

“The lack of adequate classrooms, furniture, and teaching resources continues to impede effective teaching and learning. Better facilities will create a conducive environment and boost academic performance,” he said.

Mr. Amaglo further highlighted the school’s recent victory in a quiz competition organized by the Chief of Grubi Dentemanso, Nana Kadewura III, noting that the success reflects the hard work and determination of both students and teachers.

The celebration featured poetry recitals, cultural displays, drama, and musical performances. Awards were presented to students excelling in academics, sports, and conduct, while dedicated teachers and staff were also honored.

Parents and community leaders praised the school’s leadership and pledged continued support for educational development in the area.

The maiden Speech and Prize-Giving Day marked a major milestone for Papatia D/A Basic School as it continues to nurture young talents and unlock the potential of learners in the community.
