AJ Auxerre midfielder Elisha Owusu has expressed his eagerness to return to the Black Stars ahead of Ghana’s 2026 World Cup qualifying fixtures.
Owusu, who made his senior debut against Nigeria during the 2022 World Cup playoffs, has struggled to maintain a consistent presence in the national team due to injury setbacks.
With the Black Stars preparing to resume their qualifiers in September, the midfielder is determined to fight his way back into the squad.
“I’m so motivated to play for Ghana,” he told Flashscore.com. “To be in the team means a lot. I’ll do my maximum, my best to be in the team, and we’ll let the coach decide,” he added.
Ghana will face Chad at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno on September 4 before hosting Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 8 in Matchdays 7 and 8 of the qualifiers.
Currently atop Group I with 15 points from six games, the Black Stars aim to strengthen their position as they push for a fifth World Cup appearance.
