The Headmaster of Owerriman Senior High School in Asante Akyem North, Alexander Appiah Agyei, has made a heartfelt appeal to the government to address the school’s growing infrastructural challenges.
He made the call during the school’s 40th anniversary celebration and the commissioning of a newly constructed science laboratory block, built and donated by Kwabena Obeng Stermine, a native of Asante Akyem Domeabra.
In an interview with Adom News, Mr. Appiah Agyei highlighted the difficulties hindering effective teaching and learning at Owerriman SHS. According to him, the school lacks adequate classroom blocks, dormitories, and other essential facilities needed to support both academic and administrative work.
He thanked Mr. Obeng Stermine for his generosity and urged other well-meaning individuals and stakeholders to emulate his example. He also appealed to the government to step in and provide the school with the necessary resources to ensure a conducive learning environment.
For his part, Kwabena Obeng Stermine expressed his commitment to continue supporting the school and encouraged the students to take their studies seriously, emphasizing that education is the key to unlocking their future.
