Our belief has not wavered – Asante Kotoko after Wydad AC humiliation

Asante Kotoko have issued a heartfelt message to their supporters following Friday’s heavy defeat to Wydad Athletic Club in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The Porcupine Warriors endured a torrid night in Morocco, suffering a 5-1 loss that sealed a 6-1 aggregate exit from the competition’s second round.

The result sparked frustration among fans, especially as it came on the same day the club confirmed the sale of star midfielder Albert Amoah to Al Ahli Benghazi.

In a statement signed by Acting Chairman Nana Apinkra Akwasi Awua, Kotoko’s management assured supporters of their resolve to bounce back stronger.

“This is not the end of the journey. A setback is a setup for a comeback. We are already focused on the task ahead, and we are committed to turning things around. Our belief is not wavered,” part of the letter read.

The club also rallied fans to stand firmly behind the team as they return to domestic duties.

“We call on every Porcupine Warrior to fill the stands in our upcoming matches. Let us unite as one force, wear red colours with pride and roar the team to victory,” the letter continued.

Asante Kotoko will now shift focus to the Ghana Premier League, where they are set to face archrivals Hearts of Oak in their next fixture.
