Our aim is to maintain our consistency – Medeama boss Ibrahim Tanko downplays title chances

-

Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has urged caution despite his team’s impressive start to the 2025/26 Ghana Premier League campaign.

After six matches, the Yellow and Mauve side sit atop the league table with 13 points, having secured four wins, one draw and a single defeat.

Speaking to the club’s media team, Tanko commended his players’ efforts but insisted it was too soon to discuss title ambitions.

“The league is still young, and we are taking it one match at a time. It’s too early to talk about the title, but our focus is on maintaining consistency and improving game after game,” he said.

The former Black Stars assistant coach also highlighted the growing competitiveness of the Ghana Premier League, noting that every team has become a formidable opponent this season.

“Generally, the Premier League is very tough, especially this season. All the teams have prepared very well, so it’s not always the case that you have to dominate to win matches,” he added.

Medeama will look to extend their strong run when they host Swedru All Blacks at the TNA Park on Sunday in the Matchday 7 games.
