Ouattara expresses disappointment over Hearts of Oak’s coaching appointment

Former Hearts of Oak head coach Aboubakar Ouattara has expressed strong dissatisfaction with the club’s decision to appoint a new manager without consulting him.

On Friday, June 20, Hearts of Oak officially announced Mas-Ud Didi Dramani as their new head coach for the 2025/26 season. The former Black Stars assistant coach has signed a two-year contract with the Accra-based club.

Ouattara, who led Hearts of Oak for the past two seasons, criticised the club’s handling of the transition.

The Ivorian coach revealed that he was not informed by the club’s management prior to Dramani’s appointment, calling it a significant administrative error.

“You cannot appoint a coach while another coach is in place. It is a big administrative mistake,” he said in an interview aired on Pure FM.

“If you want to appoint a new coach, talk to me, but they rather ghosted me,” he added.

Following Dramani’s arrival, Ouattara has been reassigned to a new role as Special Advisor to the club’s Board of Directors.
