The Oti Regional Minister, John Kwadwo Gyapong, has called on churches to collaborate and develop a unified approach for the holistic development of the region.

He emphasized the need to mobilize religious leaders’ support to advance government initiatives focused on development and accountability.

Speaking at a meeting with the Local Council of Churches in Dambai, Krachi East Municipality, the minister highlighted that improving citizens’ well-being requires strong partnerships with faith-based organizations.

He reiterated the government’s commitment to strengthening the relationship between the state and the church, recognizing the church’s vital role in shaping values and promoting responsible citizenship.

The minister urged church leaders to advocate for government programs and encourage citizens to actively participate in development projects.

During the meeting, the clergy requested the minister’s assistance in lobbying for a hospital in Dambai and in securing travel slots to Israel for church members, similar to arrangements provided for churches in other cities.

Bishop John Pang-Moot, chairman of the Local Council of Churches, called on the minister to use his influence to secure government support for the Dambai hospital project. He also appealed for travel slots to Israel, citing the benefits for spiritual growth and professional development.

Bishop Pang-Moot reaffirmed the churches’ commitment to partnering with the government to improve the welfare of citizens in the Oti Region.
