The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has announced that former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta and seven others will appear in court on Monday, 24 November 2025, to answer 78 charges related to corruption and other offences.

In a social media update, the OSP stated that “the prosecution will seek the necessary court orders to serve the charge sheets on fugitives who are currently outside the jurisdiction.”

The charges follow formal accusations against Ofori-Atta, Strategic Mobilisation Limited (SML), and six former senior officials of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) and the Ministry of Finance.

Those charged include Ernest Darko Akore, 67, former Chief of Staff to the Finance Minister; Emmanuel Kofi Nti, 66, and Rev. Ammishaddai Owusu-Amoah, 64, both former Commissioner-Generals of the GRA; Isaac Crentsil, 63, and Kwadwo Damoah, 65, former Commissioners of the Customs Division; Evans Adusei, 62, CEO of SML; and the company itself, now known as Strategic Mobilisation Ghana Ltd.

The prosecution alleges the accused were part of a sophisticated, long-running “criminal enterprise” operating from 2017 to 2024.

They are accused of conspiring to manipulate procurement processes, award unlawful contracts, and divert more than GHS 1.4 billion for undelivered services.
