One person has been confirmed dead following a crash involving a Toyota Voxy and a stationary MAN Diesel truck at Teacher Mantey on the Accra–Kumasi Highway on Saturday, March 7.
According to a statement shared on Facebook by the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), a six-member rescue team from the Suhum Municipal Fire Station responded to the incident. The team, led by ADOII Ocansey Bright, arrived to find the Toyota Voxy severely damaged after colliding with the parked truck.
Firefighters conducted a rescue operation and retrieved the body of a male occupant trapped inside the wreckage. The body was subsequently handed over to the police for further investigations and preservation.
Preliminary eyewitness accounts indicate that the Toyota Voxy was travelling at high speed before it crashed into the stationary MAN Diesel truck. Investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the accident.
