One person has been injured following a road accident involving a Hyundai Rhino truck and a stationary vehicle at Bibiani in the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region.

The incident occurred along the Bibiani–Goaso highway when the Hyundai Rhino truck, with registration number AS 5632-26, crashed into a broken-down Daewoo Ultra Novus truck that had been parked by the roadside.

According to the driver of the Rhino, Abraham Nkrumah, they were travelling from Sefwi Juaboso to Kumasi when the accident happened.

He explained that he failed to detect the stationary vehicle in time, attributing the crash to the absence of a warning triangle or any visible signal to alert oncoming drivers.

He disclosed that six persons were on board the vehicle at the time of the incident. However, only his conductor sustained injuries.

The injured victim was rushed to the Divine Love Hospital in Bibiani, where he is currently receiving treatment.

The incident has once again raised concerns about road safety compliance, particularly the failure of some drivers to place warning signs when their vehicles break down on highways.
