Minister of Health, Dr. Bernard Okoe-Boye, has called on Ghanaian politicians to move away from emotional manipulation and instead embrace critical thinking in their decision-making.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Dr. Okoe-Boye stressed that emotional appeals may win political power temporarily, but they do not lead to lasting peace or development.

“Politics of emotional manipulation grants you power, but without peace. That’s why some MPs can’t return to their constituencies — they manipulated voters without a development mindset,” he said.

He argued that cognitive stimulation equips leaders to provide real solutions and drive progress across sectors such as mining, chieftaincy, and banking.

“Everything has been politicised. We must elect leaders with the mindset to develop, not just those who stir emotions for votes,” he added.
