The 2025 edition of the National Science and Maths Quiz (NSMQ) will officially be launched on Thursday, October 2, with the highly anticipated balloting exercise to determine school pairings for the competition.

The NSMQ, Ghana’s longest-running and most-watched academic contest, is once again expected to ignite excitement nationwide as senior high schools (SHSs) vie for supremacy in science and mathematics.

The preliminary stage of the national championship will take place from October 13 to 17, followed by the one-eighth stage from October 19 to 21. The quarterfinals are scheduled for October 23 to 25, with the semi-finals on October 27.

The grand finale, where the ultimate trophy and bragging rights will be contested, is set for Thursday, October 30.

Produced by Primetime Limited and sponsored by the Ghana Education Service, the NSMQ continues to attract massive national attention each year, drawing in students, alumni, and education enthusiasts.

This year’s contest will be broadcast live on Joy News, Joy Prime, and Joy FM, with support from sponsors including NASCO, VitaMilk, Ayuda, Virtual Security Africa, Admissions Checker, German Ozone Medical Centre, Achimota Retail Centre, Ace Medical Insurance, Slamm Technologies, Family Health Medical School, and Chopbox Technologies.
