The Kontonkyi boys, who made headlines earlier after qualifying for their first-ever quarterfinals, showed that their earlier victory was no fluke. In a fiercely contested quarterfinal showdown, they toppled two of the competition’s most respected powerhouses Osei Tutu SHS and St. James Seminary with an impressive display of consistency, teamwork, and grit.

After five intense rounds, Amaniampong stood tall with 43 points, ahead of Osei Tutu’s 40 and St. James Seminary’s 30. The result sparked wild celebrations from fans in the auditorium and online, marking yet another major upset in this year’s tournament.
For a school that had never crossed the one-eighth stage before 2025, this semifinal qualification cements Amaniampong SHS as one of the year’s biggest success stories and a true underdog to watch.
As they prepare for their next battle, the Kontonkyi boys remain confident and hungry, with one goal in mind: to keep defying expectations and go all the way to the grand finale.
