The Director General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Yaw Ampofo Ankrah, has revealed that Ghana’s sports infrastructure agenda is moving beyond short-term renovations toward long-term re-engineering and modernization.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Sports Nite Show, Mr. Yaw Ampofo Ankrah said, “Our vision goes beyond renovation. It’s about re-engineering—building facilities that are modern, durable, and capable of hosting international competitions.”

He stressed that while renovation works have been carried out at various stadia across the country, it is now time for Ghana to adopt a forward-thinking approach.

“We need stadiums that can serve the nation for decades, rather than constantly spending on renovations that don’t last,” he noted.

Yaw Ampofo Ankrah further called on all stakeholders in the sports sector to rally behind this bold vision aimed at transforming Ghana’s sporting landscape for future generations.
