
The National Road Safety Authority (NRSA) has expressed deep sorrow following a fatal crash that claimed the lives of 16 members of the Saviour Church on Monday, July 28, 2025.
The tragedy occurred along the Atwedie-Asankare stretch of the N6 Highway.
According to officials, the crash involved a Ford Transit bus with registration number GT 4674-22 and a DAF XF articulated tanker truck bearing registration number GT 1674-17.
Several others sustained critical injuries in the incident and are currently receiving medical attention.
In a statement, the NRSA extended its condolences to the bereaved families and affected groups, while wishing the injured a full and speedy recovery.
The Authority noted with concern the rising spate of fatal road crashes and called for intensified enforcement of road traffic regulations by the Police Motor Traffic and Transport Department across the country.
Motorists have been urged to strictly observe safety protocols, including adherence to speed limits, regular vehicle maintenance, and responsible driving conduct.
The NRSA reiterated its commitment to reducing the frequency and severity of road crashes through ongoing collaboration with key stakeholders, including the Ghana Police Service, transport unions, and civil society organisations.
