Former CEO of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, has mocked claims by some New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopefuls that they enjoy stronger grassroots support than Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
In a Facebook post on Sunday, September 7, Mr. Ofosu Nkansah, a staunch supporter of the former Vice President and 2024 NPP presidential candidate, dismissed such assertions as baseless.
“Talking on the basis that some candidates are loved more by the grassroots than Dr. Bawumia without any data or research to back it, I can also say that I, Kofi Ofosu Nkansah, am loved more by the grassroots than those candidates,” he wrote.
“Talk is cheap,” he added.
He ended his post with a playful jab, styling himself “Osee Opoofo, the most popular,” in mockery of the repeated popularity claims.
His remarks come as the NPP’s flagbearer race heats up, with loyalty, popularity, and grassroots appeal becoming key talking points in the buildup to the party’s 2028 general elections.
