The campaign team of Ing. Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has rejected reports circulating on social media that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential hopeful has been disqualified from the party’s upcoming primaries.
Some reports alleged that Mr. Agyepong failed to pay a mandatory GHC4 million development fee required during the nomination process.
The vetting committee’s report to the National Council and National Executive Committee has allegedly flagged the issue, though the party has not issued an official statement on the matter.
However, in a press release issued on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, the Agyepong campaign described the allegations as “false, unfounded, and misleading,” urging supporters and the public to disregard them.
The statement clarified that Mr. Agyepong had successfully completed the NPP Presidential Elections Committee’s vetting process and had been formally invited by the party’s headquarters to participate in the balloting exercise set for Friday, October 10, 2025, at Asylum Down.
“Mr. Agyepong remains a qualified, dedicated, and loyal aspirant committed to upholding the democratic values of the New Patriotic Party and contributing to Ghana’s progress,” the campaign stated.
The team further urged the public to ignore what it called deliberate misinformation aimed at diverting attention from the unity and focus of their campaign.
It added that the campaign remains steadfast in promoting integrity, service, and renewal both within the NPP and the nation.
