Former Works and Housing Minister and senior lawyer, Samuel Atta Akyea, has urged New Patriotic Party (NPP) delegates to exercise caution and sound judgment in selecting the party’s next flagbearer.
Speaking to party supporters in Mpraeso, Eastern Region, Mr. Atta Akyea warned against choosing a candidate who could embarrass Ghana on the international stage.
“Let’s not make a mistake and elect someone who will insult world leaders when representing Ghana at the United Nations,” he said.
He stressed the importance of preserving Ghana’s reputation, particularly at high-level platforms such as the UN General Assembly, where diplomacy and decorum are critical.
The former minister emphasised that the next party leader must possess the temperament, maturity, and statesmanship required to engage constructively with the global community.
