The New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Presidential Election Committee has released a provisional voter register to all aspirants contesting the party’s upcoming flagbearer race.

The document was officially handed over during a meeting chaired by the committee’s leader, Joseph Osei Owusu, who urged the aspirants to thoroughly review its contents and submit any concerns or corrections ahead of the polls.

Mr. Owusu stressed that the committee remains committed to ensuring a transparent and peaceful process as the party prepares for its January presidential primary. He noted that all aspirants were consulted before the decision to release the register was finalised.

Those present at the meeting included Kennedy Agyapong, Dr. Yaw Osei Adutwum, Ing. Kwabena Agyapong, and Lawyer Appiah Kubi, who represented Bryan Acheampong. Fred Oware also attended on behalf of former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

The NPP is gearing up for a critical internal contest to elect a flagbearer for the 2028 general election. The poll, scheduled for January 31, 2026, will determine who leads the party following its defeat in the 2024 national elections.

The release of the provisional register marks an important step in the electoral process, giving aspirants the opportunity to verify the list of delegates who will vote in the primary.

According to the committee, the objective is to prevent disputes over voter data, build confidence in the system, and ensure a credible and orderly election.
