The campaign team of New Patriotic Party (NPP) National Organiser aspirant Daniel Nii Kwartei Titus-Glover has dismissed claims that Mustapha Salam pulled out of the race following pressure or intervention from the party or any individual.
The campaign said Mr Salam’s decision to withdraw was a personal one, based on his assessment of the contest and his prospects of securing the National Organiser position.
In a statement signed by Stonewall Quartey, an aide to Mr. Titus-Glover, the campaign cautioned against linking the withdrawal to any external influence.
“Let it not be said anywhere that Mustapha Salam stepped down due to the influence, pressure, or intervention of any individual or the system,” the statement said.
According to the campaign, Mr Salam arrived at the decision after conducting a “careful” assessment of his chances in the election.
It urged NPP members and supporters to respect his decision and refrain from speculating about the reasons behind his withdrawal.
The Titus-Glover camp maintained that the circumstances surrounding Mr Salam’s decision should be allowed to speak for themselves rather than being attributed to pressure from the party or its structures.
Meanwhile, Mr. Titus-Glover is expected to continue his nationwide campaign ahead of the NPP National Executive elections scheduled for October 3, 2026.
The campaign said he would maintain his engagement with delegates, listen to their concerns, and present his vision for strengthening the party.
“He is determined to continue engaging delegates, listening to their concerns, and presenting a clear vision for a stronger, more united, and better-organised NPP,” the statement said.
The campaign further expressed confidence in delegates to independently determine who should occupy the National Organiser position.
“The decision belongs to the delegates. The mandate belongs to the delegates. And we remain confident in their judgment,” it added.
