The General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Justin Kodua Frimpong, has urged party members to embrace unity and discipline as the party works to reposition itself as a credible alternative to the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Speaking at the NPP’s National Delegates Conference on Saturday, July 19, Mr. Kodua expressed confidence that Ghanaians are eager to return the NPP to power, provided the party demonstrates cohesion and responsibility.
“Ghanaians are looking for alternatives, and they want to come back to the NPP. They know our government offered better solutions to their problems,” he stated.
However, he cautioned that public confidence in the party hinges on its conduct in opposition.
He stressed the need to put aside internal divisions, unnecessary conflicts, and personal agendas for the greater good.
“At the end of the day, Ghanaians want an opposition party that is ready to govern. Actions and inactions that breed division, acrimony, and tension must be relegated to the background,” he said.
Mr. Kodua called on party members to rise above factionalism and focus on rescuing Ghanaians from what he described as hardship and mismanagement under President John Dramani Mahama’s administration.
“We must show Ghanaians that we are a responsible and viable opposition capable of rescuing them from the current misery under the NDC government,” he added.
