Henry Nana Boakye, popularly known as Nana B, has officially announced his intention to contest for the position of National First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a statement addressed to party executives, elders, patrons and members, Nana B said his decision was motivated by a desire to help rebuild the party and contribute to its efforts to return to power in the 2028 general elections.
He said his 26 years of active service to the NPP had equipped him with the experience and leadership required to strengthen the party’s structures and reconnect with its grassroots.
“By the grace of God, and after twenty-six years of active service to our party, I believe the experience and lessons I have gained have prepared me to help strengthen our party structures, reconnect with our grassroots and contribute meaningfully to our collective mission of returning the New Patriotic Party to government in 2028,” he stated.
Nana B highlighted his extensive service to the party at the polling station, constituency, regional and national levels.
He noted that he had served as a polling station executive in the Manhyia, Tarkwa-Nsuaem and Oforikrom constituencies, a member of the Tarkwa-Nsuaem Constituency Campaign Team and Communications Officer for the Oforikrom Constituency.
At the regional and youth levels, he said he had served as TESCON President at the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) and Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), a member of the Ashanti Regional Communications Team and Campaign Team, Director of Events and Programmes for the National Youth Wing, National Youth Organiser and Vice Chairman of the International Young Democrat Union (IYDU).
He also outlined several national leadership roles, including serving on the National Communications Team, the 2020 Presidential Election Petition Legal Team, the 2020 and 2024 National Campaign Teams, the 2025 National Delegates Conference Planning Committee, the National Steering Committee, National Executive Committee and National Council.
Nana B said his aspiration is driven by a renewed sense of purpose and a commitment to helping reposition the NPP for victory in the 2028 general elections.
He appealed to party members to support his bid with their prayers and guidance as he embarks on his campaign for the National First Vice Chairman position.
