Voting commenced at 7:00am on Saturday at the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) headquarters in Accra, as delegates across the country elected a flagbearer for the 2028 election.

At the NPP headquarters in Asylum Down, party executives, campaign officials and accredited delegates were present to cast their votes and observed all laid-down voting procedures under the supervision of electoral officials.

Delegates were seen casting their ballots under the watch of party agents and security personnel, while officials verified credentials and ensured strict compliance with party rules.

Campaign teams were also present, coordinating logistics and monitoring the process.

At the headquarters voting centre, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia secured 308 votes, followed by Kennedy Agyapong with 160 votes. Kwabena Agyapong obtained 7 votes, while Bryan Acheampong and Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum recorded 3 votes each.

The Electoral Commission (EC) is expected to declare the official and final results at the headquarters.

Notable party figures who cast their ballots at the headquarters included former Attorney-General, Godfred Yeboah Dame; former Director-General of the National Communications Authority, Joe Anokye; former NPP Chairman, Freddie Blay; former General Secretary, John Boadu, former National Petroleum Authority (NPA) CEO, Dr. Mustapha Hamid; and Sammy Crabbe.

Presidential aspirants Dr Mahamudu Bawumia and Ing. Kwabena Agyapong also voted at the headquarters, among several other senior party members.
