The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Kpandai Constituency has denied allegations that it orchestrated the recent bee attack on supporters of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), which left one person dead.
NPP Constituency Chairman, Kennedy Dzato, described the claims as false, suggesting instead that the incident may be linked to internal issues within the NDC.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Mr Dzato said, “I think it is the NDC’s punishment for not paying their mallams after helping them win the election. We are not responsible for that attack.”
He added, “If they say it’s a spiritual attack, then it’s their own people they didn’t pay. We are maintaining the Kpandai seat.”
Mr Dzato was responding to accusations by NDC Deputy General Secretary, Mustapha Gbande, who alleged that the NPP brought three mallams from Niger into the constituency to orchestrate the attack as part of efforts to destabilise the NDC’s campaign.
One person has been reported dead following the bee attack on NDC supporters in the Kpandai District after a campaign engagement on Sunday, December 14. The incident occurred shortly after the party concluded its campaign activities in the area.
