The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has cleared all 47 aspirants who filed to contest its 2026 National Officers Elections.
The National Officers Election Vetting Committee (NOEVC) completed the vetting exercise on September 3 after sitting from August 31 to September 3, 2026.
According to the National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC), the vetting committee reviewed the documents submitted by the aspirants, engaged them during the exercise and assessed their eligibility under the rules governing the elections.
Following the exercise, the committee recommended all 47 aspirants as suitable and eligible to contest the positions for which they filed their nominations.
The cleared aspirants are contesting nine national executive positions, including National Chairman, National Vice-Chairperson, General Secretary, National Treasurer, National Organiser, National Youth Organiser, National Women’s Organiser, National Nasara (Zongo) Organiser and National Communications Director.
Four aspirants have been cleared to contest for National Chairman, while 13 are vying for National Vice-Chairperson. Four aspirants will contest the General Secretary position, with another four cleared for National Treasurer.
The National Organiser position has attracted eight cleared aspirants, while six will contest for National Youth Organiser. Two aspirants have been cleared for National Women’s Organiser, five for National Nasara (Zongo) Organiser and one for National Communications Director.
The next major stage of the electoral process will be balloting for positions on the ballot paper.
The balloting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at the NPP Headquarters at Asylum Down in Accra.
The NOEC said aspirants are expected to participate in the balloting either personally or through duly authorised representatives, with specific times for each position to be communicated to them.
The committee has also urged aspirants, their supporters and party members to maintain discipline and conduct themselves in a manner that promotes unity and the integrity of the party as preparations continue towards the elections.
